Omar Al Khayyam

Since this is Ramadhan, I think it will be good for us to know some about Islam.

Omar Al Khayyam was a Muslim Persian mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, physician and poet. quote from islamonline

As a mathematician he was great in algebraic, his book "Maqalat fi al-Jabr wa al-Muqabila is a masterpiece of algebra and has great contribution for its development.

As an astronomer, he had introduced a calendar that much better than gregorian calendar. it was called Al-Tarikh-al-Jalali.
